White Lion is a compact, mounded Shasta daisy with clear-white flowers and yellow centers. It flowers in its first year and is especially useful for early-season color in small beds, patio pots, and the front of a perennial border.
## Garden use and appearance
The breeder, [PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/products/123300001017895/leucanthemum-white-lion/), lists plants at 8–10 inches tall and 8–12 inches wide, with white flowers, a mounded habit, sun exposure, and USDA zones 3b–9a. Its flowering schedule ranges from early spring through late summer. The small scale works well in containers and low border plantings, where its bright flowers can be enjoyed at close range. Green foliage forms a compact base beneath the daisy flowers.
## Growing conditions
Give White Lion full sun and well-drained soil. Keep new plants evenly watered while they establish, then adjust irrigation to site drainage and weather. Avoid saturated soil, particularly in winter. The PanAmerican culture guide describes its short-day flowering response and production without vernalization; these are grower-production characteristics, while the garden plant remains a perennial. [North Carolina Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/leucanthemum-x-superbum/common-name/shasta-daisy/) provides additional care guidance for Shasta daisies, including cultivar variation and winter drainage.
## Maintenance
Remove faded blooms to keep plants neat and encourage continued flowering. Divide established clumps every few years if they become crowded.
