About Lisa Blue Lisianthus

Lisa Blue is a blue-flowered selection in PanAmerican Seed’s dwarf Lisa lisianthus series, which was developed for early flowering and pot culture. The series branches high on the stem and does not need plant growth regulators in production. ## Habit and Use PanAmerican describes Lisa as its earliest-blooming dwarf lisianthus series and lists pot sizes of 3–6 inches; that figure is the container size, not the mature height. Its culture sheet describes high stem branching and some resistance to rosetting. Blue flowers make this selection suitable for a compact seasonal container or a small bedding display. See the [PanAmerican Lisa series culture sheet](https://www.panamseed.com/Media/Culture/PAS/LisianthusPot-Bedding.pdf). ## Growing Conditions Lisianthus is a tender perennial commonly grown as an annual bedding or potted plant. It prefers partial sun and shade with well-drained soil; its slow-growing seedlings are usually purchased as transplants. The [University of Florida IFAS lisianthus guide](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/lisianthus/) describes the species’ growing habit, flower colors, and use as a cut flower. ## Maintenance Set plants into a freely draining container or bed after frost danger has passed. Keep the root zone evenly moist without leaving the plant in saturated soil. Remove spent flowers to keep the display tidy, and protect the plant from cold weather.
