About Anabel® Snow White Lobelia erinus

Anabel® Snow White is a compact, medium-growth Lobelia erinus with small white flowers and a low, spreading display. Danziger lists the variety for pots, hanging baskets and ground cover, making it useful along edges or as a light seasonal filler. ## Flowering and placement The Anabel series has single flowers and a compact habit; Danziger describes its flowers as remaining open in twilight and early morning. The Snow White selection adds a clear white note to the series. Its cataloged height is 8–10 inches. Use it near a path, in a container, or where its fine stems can soften a border edge. ## Growing conditions Lobelia erinus performs best in cool spring weather and organically rich, consistently moist but well-drained soil. Give it full sun to partial shade, with some afternoon shade where summers are hot. Water regularly; this species does not tolerate drying out. Danziger identifies Anabel as heat tolerant, but sustained heat and humidity can still shorten flowering in warm regions. ## Maintenance Trim plants back when flowering and foliage begin to fade to encourage fresh growth. Check containers often in warm weather so the shallow root zone stays evenly moist.
