Glow™ Electric Blue Lobelia erinus

Glow™ Electric Blue is a compact, mounded Lobelia erinus with small blue flowers. Danziger lists this selection as early flowering and heat tolerant, with a garden size of 8–10 inches tall by 12–14 inches wide. ## Flowering and placement The tidy mound fits patio pots, mixed containers and the front of a seasonal border. Its blue color works well beside white or silver flowers and foliage. Danziger also reports a strong garden-trial score for this selection, while its compact form makes it easy to place in smaller plantings. ## Growing conditions Plant in organically rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Lobelia erinus is most dependable in cool spring conditions and needs regular watering; it does not tolerate drought. In warm or humid climates, give it some afternoon shade and keep the root zone evenly moist. The Glow selection is bred and marketed for heat-tolerant programs, but it still benefits from steady moisture. ## Maintenance Trim plants when flowering or foliage starts to decline to encourage fresh growth. Water container plantings before the mix dries through.
