About Regatta Sapphire Lobelia

Regatta Sapphire is a blue-flowered selection in PanAmerican Seed’s Regatta trailing lobelia series. PanAmerican’s catalog identifies Regatta Sapphire as a Fleuroselect novelty; the breeder’s Regatta information describes vigorous, profusely flowering plants that cascade over baskets and containers, 6–8 inches high and 10–12 inches wide. Regatta Sapphire is shown as a Fleuroselect novelty in PanAmerican’s catalog. Its bright blue flowers make a cool-season accent for the front of a bed or a container edge. ## Growing conditions Like other Lobelia erinus, this selection is generally grown as an annual. Give it partial shade or sun in cooler weather and keep its soil evenly moist but well drained. Illinois Extension notes that lobelia can lose bloom during hot weather. Shear plants after the first flush if flowering slows, then keep watering to support renewed bloom.
