About Regatta White Lobelia

Regatta White is a trailing Lobelia erinus with white flowers and a mounded habit. PanAmerican Seed lists this selection for early spring and spring, with plants 6–8 inches high and 10–12 inches wide; it notes that Regatta flowers earlier than other trailing varieties and cascades over baskets and containers. [PanAmerican Seed Regatta White](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/039301242005863/lobelia-regatta-white/) ## Flowering and placement The profuse white blooms brighten hanging baskets, larger containers, color bowls and border edges. The gently trailing stems can spill over a planter while the central mound fills the top. ## Growing conditions The breeder lists partial sun and an early-spring-to-spring bloom season. As with other Lobelia erinus, the plant generally performs best in cooler weather. Grow it in moist, well-drained soil; Illinois Extension notes that lobelia may stop flowering in heat and recommends watering and shearing after the first flush to encourage continued summer bloom. Trim back faded stems after flowering and continue regular watering while the plant is actively growing.
