Starship™ Scarlet Bronze Leaf is the bronze-foliaged, scarlet-flowered selection in PanAmerican Seed’s upright Starship Lobelia series. Its selection-specific description gives a mature height of 24–26 inches, about 4–6 inches taller and roughly one week later to flower than Scarlet, with a general series width of 8–12 inches and hardiness zones 6a–10b. ## Garden use The deep bronze leaves set off its bright scarlet flower spikes, which bloom in summer and autumn and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. PanAmerican describes Starship as well branched and uniform, preferring higher temperatures, humidity, and moisture. Plant in a sunny border or large container, where the upright stems can stand above shorter plants.
