Clear Crystal® Purple Shades Alyssum

Clear Crystal® Purple Shades is a fragrant, mounded sweet alyssum offered as coated multi-seed pellets. PanAmerican Seed describes its tetraploid alyssums as more vigorous than standard diploids, with larger flowers and stronger performance in containers, hanging baskets, and in-ground plantings than Easter Bonnet. ## Form and Flowering Plants grow about 6–10 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide. The breeder lists early spring, spring, and autumn flowering in full sun. Purple Shades brings purple-toned flowers to the Clear Crystal range while retaining the compact, mounded form of sweet alyssum. ## Siting Plant in full sun in a freely draining bed or container. The listed spacing is 6–10 inches; spacing is for placement and is not the mature width. Use a container or hanging basket where the low mound can fill the planting, or set it near the front of a border.
