About Tundra Honeyberry

Tundra is a firm-fruited haskap cultivar suited to commercial production and mechanical handling. The University of Saskatchewan reports large, flavorful fruit that resists stem-end bleeding, making it useful for fresh handling and individually quick frozen processing. ## Fruit and Pollination Haskaps need cross-pollination. The University of Saskatchewan compatibility chart rates Aurora, Honey Bee, and Boreal Blizzard as excellent pollen partners for Tundra, while it lists the Indigo series as incompatible. Choose a compatible cultivar with overlapping bloom and allow bees access to the shrubs. ## Siting Haskaps are adapted to cold climates. Give the shrub space and place it where pollinators can reach its flowers; use local growing guidance to match the site to your climate and soil. The [University of Saskatchewan Haskap Varieties profile](https://research-groups.usask.ca/fruit/our-varieties/haskap-varieties.php) provides cultivar and pollination information. ## Maintenance Avoid treating Tundra as self-fruitful. Harvest berries when they are ripe and handle them gently to preserve their firm texture.
