About Gallery White Lupine

Gallery White is a compact lupine with upright, scented white flower spikes above palmate green foliage. HM.CLAUSE lists white shades in its first-year-flowering Gallery line; the Royal Horticultural Society describes the named white selection as reaching 60 cm, with a broader ultimate-size range. Gallery lupines flower earlier than Russell types, with the line’s listed flowering period running from May through August. ## Growing Plant in full sun or light shade in fertile, well-drained soil that remains evenly moist. North Carolina State Extension notes that lupines prefer consistent watering and can benefit from afternoon shade where summers are hot; heat and humidity may shorten their perennial life. Keep mulch over the root zone to conserve moisture and moderate soil temperature. Deadhead finished flower spikes to encourage more bloom, then clear tired stems after the display.
