Gallery Yellow is a compact lupine with upright yellow flower spikes and palmate green foliage. HM.CLAUSE lists yellow shades among the Gallery colors; exact-selection references describe plants around 37–50 cm high, with reported spreads ranging from about 30 cm to 50 cm. ## Garden Use
Use the early-season spikes in borders, cottage gardens, group plantings, or cut-flower beds. The Gallery series is described as flowering earlier than Russell lupines, and HM.CLAUSE lists a long May–August display.
## Growing
Choose full sun or light shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Lupines do best with consistent moisture and some afternoon shade in hotter summer sites. Heat and humidity can shorten their perennial life, so they are generally more reliable where summers are cool. [North Carolina State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/lupinus/)
## Maintenance
Water regularly while roots establish and during dry periods. Keep mulch around the base to cool the root zone, and remove faded flower spikes to encourage further bloom. Avoid leaving the crown in soggy soil.
