Mini-Gallery Bicolor Blue forms dwarf, compact plants with abundant blue-and-white flower spikes. HM.CLAUSE says this selection is more floriferous and can flower up to seven days earlier than Gallery; its exact plant profile gives a height of 35–40 cm, a width of 40 cm, and flowering from May through August. ## Garden Use
Use this compact lupine in a cool-climate border, grouped planting, or a large container on a terrace. Its two-tone flowers bring vertical color without the taller proportions of traditional lupines.
## Growing
Give it full sun or light shade and fertile, well-drained soil. North Carolina State Extension recommends consistent moisture and notes that lupines appreciate light afternoon shade in hot summer areas; heat and humidity may reduce their perennial lifespan. ## Maintenance
Water evenly during establishment and dry weather, but do not keep the crown waterlogged. Mulch to cool the root zone. Remove spent flower spikes to encourage additional flowers and tidy the foliage after bloom.
