Staircase® Dark Blue/Yellow is a named color selection in Green Fuse Botanicals’ Staircase lupine series. The official series page lists Dark Blue Yellow, and the catalog identity is retained as Lupinus Staircase Dark Blue/Yellow (LSTBY07-0).
## Flowers and garden use
Green Fuse describes the Staircase series as compact and heavily branched, with several flower spikes blooming at once for a tiered display and extended flowering. It is part of the First Light® Perennials and flowers in its first year without vernalization. North Carolina State Extension describes lupines generally as herbaceous perennials that bloom from spring into summer, and recommends full sun, organically rich soil, and consistent watering.
## Maintenance
Where summers are hot, provide light afternoon shade and mulch to keep roots cool. Remove spent flower spikes to encourage additional bloom.
