Staircase® White - Lupinus

Staircase® White is a white-flowered selection in Green Fuse Botanicals’ Lupine Staircase series. The developer lists this color and describes the series as compact, heavily branched, with several flower spikes opening together. ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun or part shade in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil. The developer’s catalog gives a height of 18–24 inches and hardiness beginning in Zone 3 for White; spread is not stated. This upright lupine suits borders and large containers. ## Maintenance Stake flower stems in exposed sites if needed. Remove spent spikes after flowering to encourage another flush, and check for aphids, slugs and snails. Avoid saturated soil, which can contribute to crown problems.
