WESTCOUNTRY™ 'Terracotta' PP23044 Lupine

WESTCOUNTRY™ ‘Terracotta’ is an upright lupine with green foliage and long-lasting, upright flower spikes. It grows about 24–36 inches tall and approximately 24 inches wide, with flowers in spring and early summer. The sturdy stems make it useful in a mixed perennial border and as a cut flower. ## Growing Conditions The official profile lists USDA zones 4–9 and recommends sun or part sun, consistent moisture and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Allow about two feet for the plant’s spread and place it where the warm flower color can stand out against green foliage. The profile also notes that the blooms attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and that deer and rabbits tend to avoid the plant. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stalks after blooming if you want to encourage a longer display. Keep the soil evenly moist while ensuring excess water drains away.
