Luscious® Lavender Redbud

Cercis canadensis ‘Luclavzam’, marketed as Luscious Lavender™, is a flowering redbud grown for dense, vivid purple spring blooms and glossy, heart-shaped green foliage. Its broad, rounded crown is listed at 25–30 feet tall and wide, making it a substantial small-tree selection rather than a compact garden redbud. ## Siting and seasonal interest [Proven Winners ColorChoice](https://www.provenwinnerscolorchoice.com/product/luscious-lavender-redbud/) lists zones 5–8, full sun to part sun, and moist but well-drained soil. The breeder describes pea-like flowers borne along the branches in spring, followed by broad, shiny leaves; it also reports good disease resistance and pollinator benefit. Allow room for the mature spread, and avoid planting where a wide canopy would conflict with paths or structures. ## Cultivar identity The botanical name on the breeder’s profile is Cercis canadensis ‘Luclavzam’. Luscious Lavender™ is the marketed selection name, preserving the cultivar code in the scientific name keeps the record tied to the named plant. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and during prolonged dry weather, while keeping the soil well drained. Use a light structural pruning approach when needed to maintain clearance and a balanced canopy.
