Create design onlineAbout Luscious® Royale Piña Colada™ Lantana
Luscious® Royale Piña Colada is the Lantana camara selection LANZ0004, with white flower clusters that open with yellow centers and a light citrus fragrance. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency records Shifeng Pan of Syngenta Flowers as the breeder and describes how the flowers change as they mature [CFIA’s LANZ0004 variety record](https://active.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/pbrpov/cropreport/lan/app00008597e.shtml). Retail plant details list a mature size of 12–26 inches tall by 12–24 inches wide, with blooms from spring through fall [SiteOne’s exact cultivar listing](https://www.siteone.com/en/86786b-lantana-camara-luscious-royale-pia-colada-proven-winners-lantana/p/802870).
## Flowers and placement
The flower clusters progress from yellow-green and yellow tones toward white with a yellow eye as they mature. The softly citrus-scented blooms add color through a long warm-season display. Use this mounding lantana in a sunny border, a mass planting, or a large container where it has room to spread. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators visit lantana flowers.
## Growing conditions
Choose full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Lantana tolerates heat and some drought once established, but young plants and containers need regular watering while roots settle in. Avoid leaving potting mix waterlogged. SiteOne lists the cultivar for outdoor hardiness zones 9a–11b; colder areas usually grow lantana as an annual, while it can persist as a shrub in warmer climates. [NC State Extension’s Lantana camara profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/lantana-camara/) provides species-level guidance on sun, soil, water, and regional behavior.
## Regional and safety notes
Lantana can become weedy in some tropical climates, so follow local guidance where it may escape cultivation. NC State Extension notes that the species is toxic to livestock and that leaves and unripe berries can irritate skin. Keep plant material away from pets and children.
## Maintenance
Water regularly during establishment, then check containers during hot spells as their mix dries quickly. Trim stems that extend beyond the intended planting area. In frost-free regions, remove cold-damaged growth after new shoots appear and monitor overwintered plants for whiteflies or spider mites.
