Centennial Blush is a spring-flowering star magnolia with fragrant pink flowers, medium-green summer foliage, and yellow to bronze fall color. It can be grown as a large shrub or small tree, making it useful where a flowering magnolia is wanted at a smaller scale. [First Editions](https://firsteditionsplants.com/product/centennial-blush-star-magnolia/) lists the selection as Magnolia stellata ‘Centennial Blush’ PP 22,248, reaching 12–18 feet tall and 10–15 feet wide in Zones 4–9.
## Flowers and form
The upright oval plant bears delicate pink flowers that cover the branches in spring. Green leaves follow flowering and change to yellow or bronze in autumn. The listed mature size is approximate and depends on site and growing conditions.
## Site and growing conditions
Plant in full sun, with enough space for its mature spread. The developer describes the plant as adaptable to a variety of soils and suited to urban gardens. Water regularly during establishment and during prolonged dry weather.
## Maintenance
Magnolias require little routine pruning. Remove dead or damaged branches, and prune lightly after flowering if shaping is needed. Avoid unnecessary cuts that would remove developing flower buds.
