About Cinderella® White Flowering Crabapple

Cinderella® is a very small flowering crabapple with an upright, oval crown, white spring blossoms, and golden fruit. Its green leaves turn yellow in autumn, making it useful where a compact ornamental tree is desired. ## Flowers, foliage, and fruit Lake County Nursery’s [Cinderella® selection sheet](https://www.lakecountynursery.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Malus-%E2%80%98Cinzam%E2%80%99-Cinderella%C2%AE-.pdf) identifies the selection as Malus ‘Cinzam’ and lists a height of 6–8 feet, a 5-foot spread, red flower buds opening to single white flowers, and small gold fruit. It gives Zone 4 as the stated minimum. The [Royal Horticultural Society’s Cinderella profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/315460/malus-cinderella-cinzam/details) likewise describes a compact deciduous crabapple with green leaves that turn yellow and golden-yellow autumn fruit. ## Site Grow in sun or partial shade in a range of soils; keep soil moderately moist and well drained. The small scale suits a patio tree, container, or flower border. For broader crabapple guidance, [UMass Extension](https://www.umass.edu/agriculture-food-environment/landscape/fact-sheets/crabapples) recommends full sun for best flowering and notes that crabapples tolerate varied soils. ## Maintenance Water while establishing and during extended dry spells. Remove damaged branches or suckers as needed, and allow enough room for the upright crown to develop without crowding.
