Create design onlineAbout Anna Apple Tree
Anna is a low-chill apple cultivar with upright to semi-spreading growth and medium stature. Its fruit has a Red Delicious-like shape, a red blush, and good flavor, making it useful where many standard apples do not receive enough winter chill.
## Fruit and pollination
UF/IFAS reports a chilling requirement of about 250–300 hours below 45°F and lists Anna among the few cultivars recommended for north and north-central Florida. In Florida, fruit ripens from late May into June; Anna can also pollinize Dorsett Golden and TropicSweet when bloom overlaps. Fruit is typically about 2¼–2½ inches, with roughly half its surface blushed red. These harvest dates and growing notes are regional and will vary with climate.
## Maintenance
Choose a sunny, well-drained site with good air movement. Water newly planted trees consistently, especially in sandy soil, and prune during dormancy to keep a strong, open framework.
