Create design onlineAbout Firestorm™ Honeycrisp Apple Tree
Firestorm™ is the BAB2000 red-color strain of Honeycrisp. Its fruit retains the crisp, juicy character associated with Honeycrisp while developing stronger red coloration, so the selection is grown for both eating quality and appearance.
## Selection and harvest
The exact Firestorm page from Brandt’s Fruit Trees identifies BAB2000 as a highly colored red strain and lists current nursery inventory. Harvest timing and fruit traits follow the Honeycrisp season, with local timing influenced by climate and crop load. As with other named apple selections, tree size depends substantially on rootstock and training rather than the cultivar name alone. ## Maintenance
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil and allow room for the chosen rootstock. Apples benefit from a compatible pollenizer whose bloom overlaps. Water evenly during establishment and fruit development, and prune in dormancy to maintain branch structure and light penetration. Monitor fruit and foliage for common apple pests and diseases.
