About Beverly Hills Apple Tree

Beverly Hills is a named apple cultivar originating in California. UF/IFAS lists it as a late-ripening selection with a reported requirement of about 600 chill hours, and does not recommend it for its north and north-central Florida evaluation area. ## Climate and fruit Winter chill is important for regular apple flowering and cropping, so suitability depends on local winter temperatures as well as the tree’s rootstock and site. The Florida trial’s results are regional and should not be treated as a universal rating; growers in other climates should consult local extension guidance. The cultivar produces edible apples, but the UF/IFAS table rates its fruit quality poorly within that evaluation. ## Maintenance Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil and good air movement. Water young trees during dry periods, then adjust irrigation to soil and weather. Prune during dormancy to establish a strong framework and remove damaged or crowded growth.
