About Little Troll Weeping Flowering Crabapple

Little Troll is a deciduous flowering crabapple with a graceful weeping outline and dark green foliage. Red buds open into cascades of single white flowers, followed by small, persistent orange-red fruit that birds eat. ## Form and seasonal interest The Glover Nursery catalog lists a medium growth rate and height and width of about 12–15 feet. A [Rost Landscaping profile](https://www.rostlandscaping.com/greenhouse/uploads/2020/03/CRAB-TREES.pdf) gives a smaller 8–12-foot size at ten years, so allow room for the tree to mature. Its arching branches and long-lasting fruit provide interest beyond the spring bloom. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun. The cultivar is listed as hardy in USDA Zone 4. Choose a site with enough space for the crown to spread and for the weeping branches to develop naturally. ## Maintenance Water regularly while the tree establishes and during prolonged dry spells. Remove damaged or crossing branches as needed, and avoid cutting back the natural cascade of healthy branches.
