Create design onlineAbout Robinson Crabapple Tree
Robinson is an upright-spreading flowering crabapple with pink spring flowers, glossy foliage, and dark red fruit that can persist into winter. University of Minnesota and Morton Arboretum profiles both list a mature size near 25 feet tall and wide.
## Form and seasonal interest
The broad crown can provide shade as well as a spring flower display. Fruit adds fall and winter interest and may attract birds. Morton Arboretum rates Robinson fairly for apple scab and well for fire blight, rust, and powdery mildew; disease pressure still varies with local climate and site.
## Site
Grow in full sun in well-drained soil. Allow space for a canopy approaching 25 feet across and keep it clear of overhead wires. ## Maintenance
Prune to remove damaged or crossing branches and maintain strong scaffold limbs. Remove fallen fruit where it accumulates on hard surfaces, and monitor leaves for apple scab.
