About Centum™ Deep Rose Matthiola

Centum Deep Rose is a greenhouse-grown stock selection bred for scheduled production and uniform crop performance. PanAmerican Seed describes upright 25–32-inch plants with an early-spring-to-late-spring flowering season and identifies the selection code Balcentderos. [View the exact PanAmerican Seed plant page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/074602896004686/matthiola-centum-deep-rose/). ## Flower and Form The Deep Rose selection is grown for its rose-colored flowers on upright stems. PanAmerican Seed describes selectable matthiola as producing a mix of single- and double-flowered seedlings; growers can remove single-flowered plants while they are young when a crop is being sorted for doubles. ## Greenhouse Production The Centum series is listed for greenhouse growing and spring flowering. PanAmerican Seed gives 25–32 inches for both stem length and plant height; the stem length is useful when planning a florist’s cut-flower crop. The series is selected for uniform timing and crop performance. ## Maintenance Follow the seed supplier’s seasonal schedule when timing a crop: its listed transplant-to-finish windows are 11–12 weeks in winter, 8–9 weeks in spring, 6–8 weeks in summer, and 4–7 weeks in autumn. The profile lists sun exposure and an upright habit. Its selectable seedling format allows young plants to be sorted for the desired flower form.
