Hot Cakes Hot Rose Stock

Hot Cakes Hot Rose is a compact, well-branched bedding stock with fragrant, bright rose-pink flowers. PanAmerican Seed lists it at 10–16 inches tall and 6–8 inches wide, with an upright, mounded habit and flowering in early spring, spring and autumn. Its selectable plugs can be sorted for fully double flowering plants. The supplier's production schedule allows about four weeks for plug growth and another five to seven weeks from transplant to finish. The stated size is compact, so it can fit near the front of a bed or in a smaller planting area. ## Maintenance Choose plugs selected for double flowers when that form is preferred, and remove faded blooms to keep the planting tidy. Allow room for the mature 6–8 inch spread and avoid crowding neighboring plants. Flowering time varies with the planting schedule and local conditions, so use the supplier's crop timing as a guide rather than a fixed outdoor calendar.
