About Katz White Matthiola

Matthiola Katz White is an upright stock selection for cut-flower production in fields or high tunnels. PanAmerican Seed lists a 32-inch height and spring and autumn flowering; the white blooms are carried on stems about 32 inches long. ## Characteristics The Katz series is valued for uniform stem length and flowering time across its color selections, with better heat tolerance than European or traditional field types. PanAmerican Seed reports that approximately half of Katz plants produce double-flowering types. The White selection has a four-week plug stage followed by eight to thirteen weeks from transplant to finish. ## Growing Grow in sun and schedule the crop for its intended harvest season. The grower says Katz can be produced earlier or later in the season and, in some climates, year-round for scheduled holiday flowering. This describes controlled production flexibility, not year-round outdoor garden bloom. See the [PanAmerican Seed Katz White profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/074605412005863/matthiola-katz-white/) for product-specific timing. ## Maintenance Harvest stems when flower spikes reach the desired stage and remove spent stems. Follow local sowing and transplant guidance; the listed density is for field or high-tunnel production and should not be used as landscape spacing.
