About Mathilda™ Lavender Matthiola

Mathilda™ Lavender is an upright Matthiola incana selection in PanAmerican Seed’s greenhouse-grown Mathilda series. The breeder lists a height of 25–32 inches, a 32-inch stem length, and a spring-flowering Group 2 timing for this selection. ## Flowers and cut use The exact [PanAmerican Seed plant detail](https://www.panamseed.com/products/074600895002843/matthiola-mathilda-lavender/) identifies Mathilda™ Lavender and its PAS code. The series is bred for uniform greenhouse timing and selectable plants; PanAmerican says about half the plants flower double, and growers can select double-flowered plugs while young. The assigned color selection remains distinct: Lavender. ## Greenhouse timing PanAmerican lists five to six weeks for plug production. Transplant-to-finish schedules vary by season—11–12 weeks in winter, 8–9 in spring, 6–8 in summer, and 4–7 in autumn. These are greenhouse production windows, not a claim that the selection flowers outdoors all year. The plant page lists sun exposure and upright habit; it provides no mature width or USDA hardiness zone. ## Maintenance Grow in a sunny greenhouse or protected cutting area and keep moisture even through active growth. Harvest stems when the lower florets begin to open, and remove declining stems after the crop. Follow the breeder’s seasonal crop timing for the intended production window.
