Matthiola Mathilda™ White is an upright, selectable greenhouse stock bred for uniform timing and stem performance. PanAmerican Seed lists 25–32 inches tall, 32-inch stems, and flowering schedules spanning early spring through winter in greenhouse production.
## Characteristics
The developer identifies Mathilda as a highly uniform series with white flowers and a selectable habit. Selectable plants produce about 50% double-flowering types, and growers can remove single-flowering plants while young. The profile lists a five-to-six-week plug stage, followed by crop-specific finish times after transplanting.
## Growing
Grow in sun and schedule transplanting for the intended season. PanAmerican Seed lists 11–12 weeks from transplant to finish for winter crops, eight to nine for spring, six to eight for summer, and four to seven for autumn. Its year-round note describes greenhouse scheduling, not universal outdoor bloom. See the [PanAmerican Seed Mathilda White profile](https://www.panamseed.com/products/074600895005863/matthiola-mathilda-white/) for production details and the listed mature-size range.
## Maintenance
Harvest stems when the flower spikes reach the desired stage and remove spent stems. Select out single-flowering plants at the young stage when uniform double blooms are required; use the grower’s schedule for crop timing rather than assuming a garden-season calendar.
