About Opera Fedora Matthiola

Matthiola Opera Fedora is an upright, selectable greenhouse stock bred for scheduled seasonal production. PanAmerican Seed lists 32-inch plants and stems, with autumn through late spring flowering as the recommended period. ## Characteristics The Opera series is bred for uniform timing and performance in greenhouse-grown stock. Selectable plants produce approximately half double-flowering types, and growers can identify and remove single-flowered plants while young. The Fedora profile lists a five-to-six-week plug stage and crop-specific finish times of eleven to twelve weeks in winter, eight to nine in spring, six to eight in summer, and four to seven in autumn. ## Growing Grow in sun under cool-season conditions. PanAmerican Seed recommends flowering from autumn through late spring; year-round production is possible only where greenhouse summer temperatures remain cool. Its listing of multiple seasonal schedules describes controlled production and should not be read as a universal outdoor bloom calendar. See the [PanAmerican Seed Opera Fedora profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/074602191001817/matthiola-opera-fedora/) for detailed crop timing. ## Maintenance Harvest stems at the desired flowering stage and remove spent stems. Follow the developer’s schedule for the greenhouse season being produced, and select out single-flowered plants early when uniform doubles are needed.
