Paper-bark Tree

Melaleuca cajuputi is a medium to large evergreen tree characterized by its distinctive papery, peeling bark and silvery-green foliage. Native to Southeast Asia and Australia, it thrives in coastal swamps and open savannas, often forming dense stands. The tree produces creamy-white flower spikes that attract pollinators. It is highly valued for its essential oil, known as cajuput oil, which has medicinal properties, and its durable timber used in construction, fencing, and boat building.
