Melinis nerviglumis, known as Ruby Grass, is a stunning ornamental perennial forming dense, mounded clumps of blue-green foliage. This heat-loving grass is prized for its shimmering, ruby-pink flower panicles that emerge in mid-summer and gracefully fade to silvery-white. Reaching up to two feet tall, it adds a soft, airy texture to garden borders and containers. The foliage often takes on attractive purple-red tints in autumn. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, performing exceptionally well in hot conditions and offering moderate drought tolerance once established.
