Magic™ Blotch Mix Mimulus

Magic™ Blotch Mix is a compact, spreading Mimulus hybrid with mixed-color flowers for partly shaded gardens and containers. It flowers in early and late spring, tolerates light frost, and reaches about 8–10 inches tall and wide. ## Placement Grow in part shade. Its spreading habit and compact size suit packs, pots, hanging baskets, and small landscape plantings. Syngenta lists the selection for USDA Zone 11 and identifies it as an annual; the company also notes that the plants tolerate light frost. See the [Magic™ Blotch Mix plant profile](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70092161). ## Seasonal interest The garden profile lists early- and late-spring flowering. The [Mimulus Magic™ culture guide](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/sites/g/files/kgtney2381/files/file_field/import/field_media_link/sites/g/files/zhg721/f/media/2020/03/03/culture_seed_mimulus_magic.pdf) specifically includes Magic™ Blotch Mix and gives a USDA Zone 11 rating. ## Maintenance For production, Syngenta recommends allowing the growing medium to dry between irrigations and says pinching is not needed. Follow local guidance when adapting greenhouse production recommendations to outdoor beds or containers.
