About Blütenwunder Maiden Grass

Blütenwunder is a clump-forming Chinese silver grass with an upright outline and flowers from late summer into fall. Its foliage turns red or bronze-gold in autumn, and the dried leaves and silvery flower heads remain ornamental through winter. ## Form and color Exact-cultivar profiles describe pinkish flowers that mature to pale silver, with autumn foliage reported as red or golden brown. Published height estimates range from 5–6 feet to about 2 meters; the foliage clump is narrower, with a reported spread of 0.5–1 meter. The exact-cultivar profile describes moderate drought tolerance once established and lists USDA zone 5a. The RHS and Hardy Plant Society identify the same named selection and its grass family. In spring, cut the old growth back to about 4–8 inches above the ground before new shoots emerge.
