About Pardon My Lavender II™ Bee Balm

Pardon My Lavender II is a compact Monarda didyma selection with lavender-purple flowers and aromatic green foliage. Its low profile and broad clump make it useful along a sunny border edge or in a pollinator planting. ## Flowers and placement The breeder describes flowers in lavender purple and mature dimensions of 14–18 inches tall by 22–28 inches wide. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the fragrant flower heads. This selection is distinct from the earlier Pardon My Lavender: the Canadian cultivar record names “Pardon My Lavender II” separately, while the older Lavender entry has a different rights record. ## Growing Grow in part sun to full sun, with fertile soil kept consistently moist but well drained. The breeder lists USDA zones 4–8 and describes the selection as mildew resistant. Leave space for the clump to widen and allow air to circulate around the foliage. ## Maintenance Water through dry periods and trim flowering stems after the main display. Monitor the rhizomatous clump at its edge; divide it if it outgrows its space.
