About Pink Lace Bee Balm

Pink Lace is a compact bee balm with upright, spreading growth, fresh green aromatic foliage, and medium-pink flowers. Its relatively small size suits a sunny border, container, or cut-flower planting. ## Flowers and foliage Future Plants lists flowering from July through September, green aromatic foliage, and a height of 45 centimeters in foliage and 50 centimeters in flower, with a 43-centimeter spread. The flowers are fragrant and provide a source of nectar for visiting bees. The breeder lists both pot culture and cut-flower use. The Royal Horticultural Society describes the plant as clump-forming and notes that long-tongued bumblebees may visit the flowers. ## Maintenance Pruning is not required, though removing faded flowers may prolong flowering. Watch for slugs in spring and provide good airflow during hot, dry weather, when powdery mildew can be a concern.
