Marje® Rose - Monarda

Marje® Rose is a compact monarda with large rose-pink blossoms through summer and into fall. Green Fuse lists the Marje® series as notably resilient to mildew and gives this selection a garden height of 12–15 inches. ## Garden use and care Use this low-growing perennial near the front of a sunny border or in a mixed planting where its flowers can be enjoyed close by. The height range comes from Green Fuse’s catalog; the catalog lists Zone 4, without specifying a hardiness scale. The same source describes a compact habit and unusually large flowers. Plant in well-drained soil and water during establishment, then adjust irrigation to local rainfall and soil. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stems as needed to tidy the plant and encourage continued display. Cut back old stems in spring as new growth begins. Monitor foliage in humid conditions even though Green Fuse describes Marje® as resilient to mildew.
