Muhlenbergia lindheimeri, commonly known as Lindheimer's Muhly, is a robust perennial bunchgrass native to the southwestern United States and Mexico. It features a graceful, fountain-like growth habit with fine-textured, blue-gray foliage that reaches up to five feet in height. In late summer, it produces showy, upright flower panicles that transition from purplish to silvery-gray. This drought-tolerant species thrives in full sun and calcareous soils, making it an excellent low-maintenance specimen or screening plant for sustainable landscapes.
