Mon Amie Blue is a mounded, first-year-flowering garden forget-me-not with small blue flowers. PanAmerican Seed lists it at 8–10 inches high and 6–8 inches wide, with early spring and spring bloom in USDA zones 6a–8b.
## Flowers and form
This selection flowers without vernalization and can be scheduled for autumn or spring production. Those are crop-scheduling windows; the listed garden bloom season is early spring and spring. The Royal Horticultural Society describes the species as a tufted, hairy perennial usually grown as a biennial, with small blue five-lobed flowers.
## Growing conditions
Grow in full sun or partial sun, as listed for the selection. For garden culture, the RHS recommends moist but well-drained soil and lists chalk, clay, and loam as suitable soil types. This compact forget-me-not can be used in borders or containers.
## Maintenance
The RHS notes that old plants may be removed or cut back after flowering to limit self-seeding. Expect this short-lived perennial or biennial to renew from seed rather than persist as a long-lived clump. Keep the soil evenly moist while avoiding waterlogging, and make sure container-grown plants drain freely.
