Purple Haze Catmint

Purple Haze is Terra Nova’s low, spreading catmint with a silvery mat of foliage and purple-blue flower spikes. Its exact profile lists USDA zones 6–10, about 4 inches of foliage height with 7-inch flowering stems, a spread near 30 inches, and blooms from June through October. ## Garden Use Use Purple Haze at the front of a border or mixed bed, as groundcover on a bank, or in a rock garden. The tidy spreading habit also works along an edge. The [Terra Nova profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/nepeta-purple-haze/) lists United States patent PP 23,180 and European grant 35861. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and well-drained, low-organic soil. The grower notes that it needs some summer watering but tolerates drought after establishment. Allow the soil to drain between waterings. ## Maintenance Terra Nova describes Purple Haze as a clean, low-maintenance plant that rarely becomes messy. Its compact foliage mat needs little shaping while the flower spikes continue to rise above it.
