About Blue Wonder Catmint

‘Blue Wonder’ is a compact catmint selected for aromatic, silvery gray-green foliage and rich blue flowers. The [Royal Horticultural Society profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/284449/nepeta-%C3%97-faassenii-blue-wonder/details) accepts the name Nepeta × faassenii ‘Blue Wonder’ and describes flowering from early summer into early autumn. ## Garden Use Use this bushy perennial at the front of a sunny border, in a gravel or cottage garden, or in a patio container. Its blue flower spikes rise above fragrant foliage, providing a long summer display. The RHS describes it as compact, reaching about 30 cm in height, and lists a broad mature height and spread range of 0.1–0.5 m. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun for the strongest flowering, though light shade is tolerated. A well-drained loam, sand, or chalk soil suits it; the profile accepts acidic, neutral, and alkaline conditions. Its aromatic leaves add sensory interest even when the flowers are not at peak display. ## Maintenance Trim the plant after flowering to keep its mound compact. Divide established clumps in spring or autumn, or propagate from softwood cuttings in early summer.
