Create design onlineAbout Newton Basil
Newton is a vigorous, upright Genovese basil bred for fast growth and fresh culinary use. PanAmerican Seed reports high resistance to Fusarium and describes large, bright green, crinkled leaves, with traditional Genovese flavor and no licorice aftertaste. The breeder lists the selection for fresh-cut use, containers, hydroponics, processing, and roots-on presentation. [PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/009100001042011/basil-newton/)
## Form and use
Newton is listed at 12–20 inches tall and 10–16 inches wide, with full sun exposure. PanAmerican Seed gives 20–30 days to maturity from transplant. Its leafy form is useful where a familiar sweet basil profile is desired for wraps, chopped herbs, and other fresh uses.
## Maintenance
Provide a sunny growing position and harvest leaves as needed. See the linked breeder page for current product details.
