Sikitita 1 is a named olive selection from the University of Córdoba and IFAPA breeding program, selected from Picual × Arbequina. Its compact, weeping habit and reduced vigor make it useful where a smaller olive canopy or high-density hedge is desired. [Official Sikitita variety profile](https://sikitita.com/variedades/)
## Selection and Use
Registered in 2009, Sikitita 1 produces early, abundant crops with good oil yield and a fruity, mild oil. The source describes it as especially suited to hedgerow planting and as adapted to dryland conditions. This entry refers to Sikitita 1; the site treats Sikitita 2 as a separate, later selection from the reverse cross.
## Form and Placement
The selection is compact and weeping, with a canopy volume reported at about 30 percent less than Arbequina. Leave space for its mature spread and use its arching form in a sunny orchard or as a fruiting specimen. The official profile reports winter-cold tolerance but does not give a USDA zone range.

## Maintenance
Use the pruning approach appropriate to the intended orchard or garden form. For hedgerow production, maintain the compact canopy with regular, measured pruning; avoid removing more growth than needed to keep the desired structure.
