Akila® Sunset Shades African Daisy

Akila® Sunset Shades is a seed-grown Osteospermum ecklonis sold as a multicolor mix of sunset tones, including yellow, rose-red, salmon, apricot, and orange shades. PanAmerican Seed lists the product as PAS1260426 and describes a mounded plant for full sun that blooms in early spring through spring and tolerates drought once established ([official product profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/046106258007440/osteospermum-akila-sunset-shades/)). ## Form and season The mix produces varied colors rather than a single uniform flower shade. Its compact, mounded form suits seasonal beds, borders, and containers, with an approximate mature height of 10–14 inches and spread of 14–20 inches. The product page identifies it with the Akila® series. ## Siting Choose a sunny position and leave enough room for the stated spread. The grower profile lists spring-season flowering and describes the plant as drought tolerant after establishment; provide appropriate water while new plants are getting established. ## Maintenance Let new plants establish before relying on their drought tolerance. Keep neighboring plants from crowding the mound, and use the exact Akila® Sunset Shades product information when selecting seed or planning a coordinated mix.
