Purple Mountain® Sun Daisy

Purple Mountain® is an evergreen sun daisy selected for its bright purple flowers and trim mat of rich green leaves. Plant Select lists the formal name as Osteospermum barberae var. compactum 'P005S'; its photo captions also use the spelling barberiae. Deadheading can extend scattered flowering until frost. Plants are listed at 12–14 inches tall and wide, with a spreading, mat-forming habit. ## Site and care Grow in sun or part sun in well-drained clay, loam or sandy soil. Water needs range from moderate to dry; avoid frequent irrigation, soggy ground and heavily amended soil.
