Ostica™ Midnight African Daisy

Ostica™ Midnight is an early-flowering Osteospermum ecklonis with large, single flowers and a compact, mounded habit. Danziger gives a mature size of about 8–10 inches high and 12–14 inches wide, with use in pots and landscape plantings ([Ostica™ Midnight](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/ostica-midnight/)). ## Form and use The rounded plant works in patio containers, seasonal borders, and repeated groups where its compact spread can be appreciated. It is part of Danziger’s OSTICA™ Series. Pair it with other spring-flowering plants for a layered seasonal display. ## Siting Provide a sunny, well-drained position. The Royal Horticultural Society recommends full sun and shelter from cold winds for Osteospermum ecklonis ([RHS growing guidance](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/46928/osteospermum-ecklonis/details)). A container offers flexibility where winter cold or wet conditions make an exposed bed less suitable. ## Maintenance Keep new plants evenly watered while their roots establish, then water according to weather, soil, and container conditions. Remove spent flowers to maintain a neat display. In frost-prone regions, protect plants from cold or move pots to a sheltered, frost-free place.
