Tradewinds® Lemon Zest African Daisy

Tradewinds® Lemon Zest is an upright, compact-to-medium Osteospermum ecklonis with yellow flowers. Syngenta lists a mature height and width of about 10–14 inches and flowering from early spring through summer ([Tradewinds® Lemon Zest, product 70071158](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70071158)). ## Form and seasonal use The compact, upright habit suits patio containers and seasonal garden plantings. The yellow flowers give a bright accent, while the listed size helps with spacing among neighboring plants. Syngenta includes Lemon Zest in its Tradewinds® series and lists it for container use. ## Siting Choose part sun to full sun and provide well-drained soil. The Royal Horticultural Society recommends full sun and shelter from cold winds for Osteospermum ecklonis ([RHS growing guidance](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/46928/osteospermum-ecklonis/details)). In exposed or colder locations, a movable container can make seasonal protection easier. ## Maintenance Water new plants regularly as they establish, then adapt irrigation to rainfall, soil, and container conditions. Check pots during warm spells because they can dry faster than garden beds. Remove spent flowers for a tidy display and protect the plant from frost where needed.
