About Osticade White Blush African Daisy

Osticade White Blush is a white African daisy with a pink blush around the flower’s eye, a distinct selection from Osticade Pure White. Its semi-trailing growth gives seasonal color along the edge of a container or basket and can soften the front of a sunny planting. ## Flowers and placement The 2014 Veitshöchheim horticultural trial listed White Blush separately from Pure White and described its large white flowers with a pink eye. Danziger describes the Osticade group as controlled and semi-trailing, with plants suited to pots, hanging baskets, and landscape use. Danziger introduced White Blush within the OSTICADE group; its semi-trailing habit is suited to baskets, pots, and landscape planting. ## Growing conditions Treat this as a tender, seasonal Osteospermum where winters are cold. Give it a bright, sunny position and freely draining soil; avoid leaving containers waterlogged. The [RHS profile for Osteospermum ecklonis](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/46928/osteospermum-ecklonis/details) describes the species in full sun and well-drained soil. The [trial report](https://www.lwg.bayern.de/mam/cms06/gartenbau/dateien/2014-g1-07aaaa.pdf) records White Blush as a Danziger introduction, distinct from Pure White. ## Maintenance Water containers when the surface begins to dry and remove spent flower heads to keep the display tidy. Protect plants from frost or grow them as seasonal bedding where winter temperatures fall below their tolerance.
