About Peony 'Alexander Fleming'

Peony ‘Alexander Fleming’, also known as ‘Doctor Alexander Fleming’, is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial with divided dark green foliage and fragrant, fully double pink flowers. Its blooms open from early to mid-summer, bringing color to cottage gardens, perennial borders, and cutting gardens. Plant it in full sun or partial shade in deep, fertile, humus-rich soil that stays moist while draining well. A sheltered position helps the tall flower stems; they may need support when the double blooms are heavy. The plant is long-lived and does best when allowed to remain undisturbed once established. [Royal Horticultural Society]() ## Maintenance Remove faded flowers as they finish, then cut the plant back after the foliage dies in autumn. Keep the root zone moist but not waterlogged. Divide in autumn or early spring only when propagation is needed.
