About Peony 'Diana Parks'

Diana Parks is a fragrant herbaceous peony with richly colored red flowers and green, divided foliage. Its late-spring to early-summer display suits a flower border or cutting garden in sun or partial shade. ## Flowers and placement The American Peony Society records this Bockstoce introduction from 1942 as a herbaceous hybrid, describing its blooms as carmine red, full-rose form and pleasingly fragrant. The Royal Horticultural Society lists a mature height and spread of about 0.5–1 m. Give the clump room to develop and use the flowers for cutting or let them provide a seasonal focal point in the border. Chalk, clay and loam are suitable soil types. Water during prolonged dry weather, directing water to the soil around the roots rather than repeatedly wetting the foliage. ## Maintenance Remove spent flowers after blooming if seed is not wanted. Cut dead stems and foliage back in autumn, and leave healthy leaves intact until they naturally decline.
